Georg Simmel was a German sociologist, philosopher, critic, also a prolific writer, who published more than two hundred of his articles appeared in a great variety of journals, newspapers, and magazines during his lifetime.
 “Superiority and Subordination as Subject-Matter of Sociology” is an article, published in 1896. Simmel describes and determinates the historical and psychological origin of the forms in which interactions take place between human beings. The totality of these interactions, springing from the most diverse impulses, directed toward the most diverse objects, and aiming at the most diverse ends, constitutes "society."
