Georg Simmel was a German sociologist, philosopher, critic, also a prolific writer, who published more than two hundred of his articles appeared in a great variety of journals, newspapers, and magazines during his lifetime. 
“The Sociology of Secrecy and of Secret Societies” is an article, presented the systematic analysis of secret societies. Simmel describes and determinates the historical and psychological origin of the forms in which interactions take place between human beings. The totality of these interactions, springing from the most diverse impulses, directed toward the most diverse objects, and aiming at the most diverse ends, constitutes "society."
