Carmagazine

First of all, some words to myself as I see myself as a real car enthusiast: I collect and read car magazines from all over the world - UK, USA, Germany, France… I would consider myself as a real petrolhead who knows even more than most sales represantatives from the company or even some journalists. I work in the automotive industry in public relations - so I know what a press release is. That brings me to the first point of criticism that I have to share with Carmag. You really can see that there are a lot of articles based on press releases from the manufacturer (that goes as well for pictures). The content is not really deep and you really recognize that the editor has not driven many of the cars he is talking about. You can really work well with a press release, there is no point against that, but sometimes I even spotted an exact sentence from the manufacturer in his point of view. If I just want to read about the good things a new car brings with it, then I can read the catalogue or brochure of the car as well. Unfortunately there are no live pictures from car shows, launch events etc. I know it is difficult to get in this business, but maybe you can hook up with someone who attends the car shows and so on. Coming to the good points: You really see that the editor loves what he does - and that is one of the most important things. He loves cars and writing about them. And: Carmag is definitely one of the most „pretty“ magazines about cars out there. It looks simply great and makes you want to read it instantly on your iPad. I am a reader since two issues (since relaunch with new design) and can really say: Congratulations on that! Just keep on improving your content and consider yourself as a car expert: Your opinion matters as well and not every car is fun and perfect. I am really looking forward for the next issues.
